Leroy’s career began at age thirteen when he booked his first major tour that spanned the Atlantic seaboard. He later attended Virginia State University, where he studied with David Chambliss of the Petersburg Symphony Orchestra. Upon graduation, Leroy joined the United States Air Force where he was selected as the
drummer for the Air Force’s premier touring group, “Tops In Blue”. His military and musical career led him to Frankfurt, Germany, where he played with the R&B group Patrol and had the opportunity to back Sony Europe’s recording artist, Paris Red.

Leroy toured extensively stateside as a full-time Air Force musician. During that time, he had the privilege of performing for multitudes of people, young and old. Engagements of note to are Take 6, Aaron Neville, Brian McKnight, Gordon Goodwin of Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, Vital Information, and Angie Johnson. Leroy has had the privilege of playing on worldwide tours featuring artists and groups such as the Grammy award-winning Hootie and the Blowfish, Kid Rock, Blues Traveler, Restless Heart, Jamie O’Neal, Lee Greenwood, JessieJames, The Chris Hicks Band, and The Marshall Tucker Band.
